- You are between 18 and 70 years old
- You were recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis or subacute thyroiditis (confirmed by blood tests, physical exam, and ultrasound)
- You are not pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding
- Your kidneys and liver are working reasonably well
- You are not currently taking corticosteroid medications (or stopped at least 30 days ago)
- You do not have an active serious infection or blood cell problems
