Lollipops to Reduce Confusion After Surgery in Young Children

Who can take part

  • Your child is between 2 and 6 years old
  • Your child is scheduled for planned (elective) surgery under general anesthesia using sevoflurane gas
  • Your child is in generally good health (ASA status I or II—no serious medical conditions)
  • You can provide written permission for your child to participate
  • Your child has never had emergence delirium or serious behavioral issues after anesthesia
  • Your child is not currently taking sedative or psychiatric medications
