Who can take part
- Your child is between 2 and 8 years old
- Your child is in good overall health (ASA class I or II—not having serious heart, liver, or kidney problems)
- Your child is scheduled for planned elective surgery using sevoflurane anesthesia
- Your child does not have a history of psychiatric illness or cognitive impairment
- Your child is not allergic to dexmedetomidine or propofol-lidocaine
- Your child does not regularly take sedative or opioid medications
