  • Child is between 3 and 18 years old
  • Child is scheduled for tonsil removal surgery, with or without adenoid removal
  • Child will recover in a monitored hospital setting (like a recovery room) after surgery
  • Parent or legal guardian can give permission, and child can agree if old enough to understand
  • Child does not have neurological or eye conditions that affect how pupils work
  • Child will receive standard pain medication (opioids) as part of surgery care
