Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old
  • Your BMI is 26 or higher (you are overweight or obese)
  • You exercise 150 minutes or less per week (you are relatively inactive)
  • Your weight has been stable—no more than 11 lbs. change in the last 3 months
  • You do not have heart disease, Type 1 diabetes, or Type 2 diabetes
  • You are not taking medications that affect blood sugar, cholesterol, or weight (like diabetes drugs or statins)
