Testing a New Scoliosis Brace for Growing Kids

Idiopathic Scoliosis

This study tests a new brace called RESILIENT designed to help prevent scoliosis curves from getting worse in children. You'll wear the brace and the research team will track whether it helps slow or stop curve progression.

Who can take part

  • You have idiopathic scoliosis (curvature of the spine with no known cause)
  • You are between 9 and 16 years old when starting brace treatment
  • Your spine curve measures between 20 and 30 degrees on a recent X-ray (taken within 6 weeks)
  • Your main curve bends to the right and is in your mid-back (not higher than the top part)
  • Your bones are still growing (specific skeletal maturity score)
  • You and your parent/guardian choose the RESILIENT brace (not a traditional brace)
  • You have cell phone or internet connection at home
