Who can take part
- You are age 65 or older
- You have severe aortic stenosis (a narrowed heart valve) and are scheduled for a transcatheter aortic valve implant (TAVI—a less invasive valve replacement)
- You have heart failure symptoms that limit your activity (New York Heart Association class II or higher)
- Your heart's pumping strength is at least 40% (measured by ejection fraction)
- Your kidney function is adequate (eGFR ≥ 25 mL/min/1.73 m²) and your potassium level is controlled (≤ 5.0 mmol/L)
- You have not had a heart attack, stroke, or certain cardiac procedures in the past 30 days
