Who can take part

  • Blurred or missing spots in the center of both eyes, confirmed by vision testing
  • Vision between 20/60 and 20/200 (moderate vision loss, but not complete blindness)
  • Vision loss has been stable for at least 6 months with no major changes
  • Age 14 or older with an eye disease affecting the macula (center of the retina)
  • Normal thinking and memory skills (score of 24 or higher on a brief mental test)
  • Able to hear well enough to participate and speak English fluently
