Pulsed energy ablation for atrial fibrillation

Atrial Fibrillation (AF)

Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.

This study tests a new way to create a 'block' in the heart tissue to help control atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat). The procedure uses a special energy called pulsed field ablation to target a specific area in the heart's left upper chamber and a nearby vein, which may improve the success of the treatment.

Who can take part

  • You have atrial fibrillation that causes symptoms like heart racing, fluttering, or shortness of breath.
  • The irregular heartbeat has been recorded by an ECG or a portable heart monitor.
  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You are willing to attend follow-up visits after the procedure.
  • You have not had previous heart surgery or a procedure to close a small heart pouch (left atrial appendage occlusion).

NCT06803238Not yet recruiting
Pulsed-field ablation for atrial fibrillation

This study tests a new way to do a heart procedure (catheter ablation) for people with ongoing atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat). It uses pulsed-field energy to create a block in the heart that stops abnormal electrical signals. The goal is to improve the procedure's success and reduce risks.

NCT07023237Not yet recruiting
3D-guided pulsed field ablation for intermittent atrial fibrillation

This study tests a newer, gentler way to fix irregular heartbeats in people with paroxysmal AF. The treatment uses special energy (pulsed fields) guided by 3D imaging to target the heart tissue causing the problem, and the goal is to restore a normal rhythm with fewer risks.

NCT06801392Recruiting
Pulsed-field ablation for non-paroxysmal atrial fibrillation

This trial tests a new way to treat non-paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) using a focused type of ablation (pulsed-field energy) on specific areas of the heart. It aims to see if targeting the left atrial wall and mitral isthmus can improve outcomes for people who have not had this procedure before.

NCT07601763Recruiting
Pulsed Field Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation Treatment

This trial tests a newer ablation technique called pulsed field ablation to treat atrial fibrillation, a heart rhythm disorder. The goal is to see if this method works well and is safe for patients who need treatment.

NCT07811934Not yet recruiting
Pulsed field ablation for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation

This study tests a special catheter that uses pulsed field energy to ablate (destroy) the tiny areas in the heart causing irregular heartbeats. It is designed for people with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (episodes that come and go) that hasn't been controlled by medication.

NCT06739512Not yet recruiting
Pulsed field ablation strategies for persistent atrial fibrillation

This trial tests a new type of heart procedure called pulsed field ablation for people with persistent atrial fibrillation (a long-lasting irregular heartbeat). It compares three different ways to use this ablation to try to restore a normal heart rhythm and reduce symptoms.
