Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with recurrent glioblastoma (a type of brain cancer that has returned) and had prior radiation and chemotherapy
  • Your tumor is no larger than 5 cm (about 2 inches) and is a single tumor, not multiple tumors in different locations
  • Your overall health and ability to perform daily activities is fairly good (Karnofsky score above 70, meaning you can carry out most normal activities)
  • Your blood counts, liver function, and kidney function are healthy enough based on recent lab tests
  • You have not had certain prior brain treatments like brachytherapy (implanted radiation) or other locally injected therapies
  • You are willing to use birth control if you can have children and commit to follow-up visits after the treatment
