Who can take part

  • Age 18–80 years old
  • Diagnosed with cardiogenic shock (severe heart failure with dangerously low blood pressure) from acute heart failure
  • Admitted to hospital within 20 hours before joining the trial
  • History of weakened heart function (ejection fraction below 40%) in the last 6 months
  • Currently showing symptoms of heart failure at rest or with minimal activity
  • Specific blood test results showing elevated heart-stress markers (NT-proBNP or BNP)
