  • You are scheduled for elective (planned, non-emergency) spine surgery
  • Your surgery will be performed at Istanbul University's Neurosurgery Department
  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • Your blood pressure is well-controlled (not dangerously high)
  • Your diabetes, if you have it, is well-controlled
  • You are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to participate
