Brain and Spinal Stimulation for Arm Recovery After Neck Injury

Who can take part

  • Your spinal cord injury occurred more than 12 months ago and affected your neck (cervical spine)
  • Your injury is incomplete (some nerve signals still travel through the injured area) and rated as Grade C or D on the AIS scale
  • You have some arm strength—specifically, Grade 3 or better strength in your finger-bending muscles on at least one side
  • You can sit upright in your wheelchair for at least 1 continuous hour without dizziness or pressure sores
  • You have stable medications for at least 4 weeks before starting, with no plan to change doses during the 12-week study
  • You've been cleared by a surgeon to safely participate in spinal cord stimulation
