Who can take part

  • Your eyes need a lens power between +15.0 and +25.0 diopters (a measure of lens strength)
  • You must have minimal astigmatism (corneal irregularity) in both eyes—less than 1.00 diopter
  • Your doctor believes you can achieve good vision (roughly 20/32 or better) in each eye after surgery, even with best-corrected glasses or contacts
  • You cannot have significant corneal disease that might affect your vision results
  • You must be in good overall eye and general health, with no conditions that would make it unsafe to participate
  • You must be willing to have both eyes set up for balanced, multifocal vision—not one eye for distance only
