Swiss Ball vs. Movement Training for Stroke Balance Recovery

This study compares two exercise approaches—using a Swiss ball and movement-based training—to help stroke survivors improve their balance and ability to move around safely. You'll do exercises at a medical center to see which method works better for restoring everyday movement skills.

Who can take part

  • Had a stroke at least 6 months ago (either side of body)
  • Age 45–65 years old
  • No significant memory or thinking problems (able to follow 3-step instructions)
  • Medically stable and no active heart or bone/joint problems
  • Balance score between 21–50 on the Berg Balance Scale (a standard test)
  • Able to travel to the medical center for exercise sessions
