Medication and Robot Training for Stroke Arm Recovery

This study tests whether three medications (Telmisartan, Cilostazol, and Metformin) combined with robotic arm training can help people improve arm movement and strength after a chronic stroke. You would participate in supervised training sessions using a robotic rehabilitation system.

Who can take part

  • Had an ischemic stroke (blood clot in the brain) at least 6 months ago
  • Age 21–80 years old
  • Moderate to severe weakness in the affected upper arm (measured by a standardized test)
  • Able to follow multi-step instructions and score 20 or higher on a memory test
  • BMI of 25 or higher (study medications work safely at this weight)
  • No heart problems, severe spasticity, or other neurological conditions that would interfere with training
