Who can take part

  • Age 18–60 years old
  • Confirmed fatty liver (at least 10% fat in your liver on an MRI scan)
  • Chronic hepatitis B infection for at least 6 months, with hepatitis B virus controlled by medication
  • Currently taking stable hepatitis B antiviral medication (same dose for at least 3 months)
  • Have at least one metabolic risk factor (overweight, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, prediabetes, or diabetes)
  • No other serious liver diseases, liver cancer, or advanced liver scarring (cirrhosis)
