Pembrolizumab, Belzutifan, and Lenvatinib for Kidney Cancer

Renal Cell Carcinoma

Treatments studied

Part of Cancer, Kidney & urinary, Women’s health & pregnancy clinical trials.

This trial tests a combination of three medicines—pembrolizumab (a drug that helps your immune system fight cancer), belzutifan, and lenvatinib (drugs that slow tumor growth)—in patients with early-stage kidney cancer who are candidates for surgery. The goal is to see if this combination can improve outcomes before or alongside surgery.

  • You must be in good overall health (ECOG performance status 0–1) with controlled blood pressure and adequate organ function

NCT05733715Recruiting· Early Phase 1
Testing pembrolizumab plus lenvatinib before kidney cancer surgery

This trial tests whether giving pembrolizumab (an immune medicine) and lenvatinib (a targeted medicine) before surgery can shrink or better treat renal cell carcinoma. The goal is to improve surgical outcomes and help the body fight the cancer.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
NCT05969496Recruiting· Phase 2
Pembrolizumab plus axitinib before kidney surgery for RCC with IVC tumor

This Phase 2 trial tests whether pembrolizumab plus axitinib can shrink kidney cancer before surgery, when there is tumor growth into the inferior vena cava (IVC). It may help make the operation easier and improve chances of long-term control.

NCT04981509Recruiting· Phase 2
Check if 3 medicines help advanced kidney cancer

This Phase 2 trial tests whether combining bevacizumab, erlotinib, and atezolizumab can shrink or control advanced kidney cancer. It’s aimed at people with certain kidney-cancer subtypes (including HLRCC-related cases or papillary kidney cancer) and who have not had many prior targeted or immune treatments.

La Jolla, California
NCT07460206Not yet recruiting· Phase 2
Study of pembrolizumab plus lenvatinib for kidney cancer that returned after adjuvant treatment

This trial tests combining the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab with the targeted therapy lenvatinib for people with advanced clear cell kidney cancer that returned after completing pembrolizumab as an early treatment after surgery. It aims to see if this combination can shrink or control the cancer.

NCT07187778Recruiting· Phase 2
Kidney cancer treatment before surgery

This trial tests two drugs, alone or together, given before surgery to shrink kidney cancer tumors. It aims to see which approach works best for patients with intermediate- to high-risk clear cell renal cell carcinoma.

Houston, Texas
NCT07689240Not yet recruiting· Phase 3
Pembrolizumab after kidney surgery for non-clear cell kidney cancer

This trial tests whether the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab can help prevent kidney cancer from coming back after surgery. It is for people with a less common type of kidney cancer called non-clear cell renal cell carcinoma that was at a higher stage or had spread but was fully removed.
