Who can take part
- You are 18 years old or older
- You have been on a breathing machine (ventilator) for at least 48 hours
- You have a collapsed area of lung (atelectasis) confirmed by imaging
- You have thick airway secretions requiring suctioning at least twice per hour
- You are expected to need the breathing tube for at least 5 more days
- You do not have untreated lung collapse, active bleeding in lungs, or life-threatening organ failure
