Who can take part
- You are 18 or older
- You have a tracheostomy (a tube in your windpipe) that has been in place for at least 7 days
- You produce a lot of thick mucus or yellow/green phlegm, need suction every 4 hours or more, and have rattling sounds in your lungs
- Your vital signs (like heart rate and blood pressure) are stable and not a concern right now
- You do not have active bleeding from the lungs, a collapsed lung that hasn't been treated, or large air blisters in the lung (bullae)
