Managing Heart Rate and Blood Pressure During Surgery Intubation

  • Relatively good overall health (no serious heart or lung disease)
  • Scheduled for elective (planned, non-emergency) non-heart surgery
  • Not currently taking beta-blockers (heart medications) for any condition
  • Normal kidney and liver function
  • No allergy to metoprolol or sufentanil
