Pregabalin and Movement Therapy for Knee Osteoarthritis Pain

This trial tests whether a nerve pain medication called pregabalin, applied through ultrasound waves to your knee, combined with gentle movement exercises, can reduce pain in advanced knee osteoarthritis. You'll attend 16 treatment sessions over 4 weeks to see if this combination helps.

Who can take part

  • Diagnosed with Grade III knee osteoarthritis (confirmed by X-ray within the past year or a new X-ray)
  • Evidence of nerve-related pain in the knee using a DN-4 questionnaire (score of 4 or higher)
  • Age 40–70 years old
  • Able to attend 4 sessions per week for 4 consecutive weeks (16 total sessions)
  • No recent knee injections (corticosteroid or hyaluronic acid) within 3 months
  • No metal implants, pacemakers, or electronic devices in your body that would prevent ultrasound treatment
