Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You are scheduled for one of these office-based ENT procedures: turbinate reduction, nasal debridement, balloon sinuplasty, radiofrequency ablation (RhinAer/VivAer), nasal polypectomy, eustachian tube dilation, vocal fold injection, or subglottic steroid injection.
  • You can give your own consent and speak English.
  • For the active VR part: You do not have a history of neurological or seizure disorders, developmental delays, uncorrected vision problems, motion sickness, or vertigo, and you can use a handheld controller.
  • For the passive VR part: You do not have a history of neurological or seizure disorders, developmental delays, uncorrected vision problems, motion sickness, or vertigo.
  • Your medical records are not flagged with 'break the glass' or 'research opt out.'
