Who can take part
- Age 18 or older and receiving care at Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University between March and May 2026
- Diagnosed with ischemic stroke (blood clot blocking brain blood flow) or Alzheimer's disease by standard clinical criteria
- Already having a lumbar puncture (spinal tap) done for your medical care, not just for research
- Extra cerebrospinal fluid remaining after your clinical tests are complete
- Able to sign consent forms or have a legal representative sign for you
- For stroke patients: baseline neurological assessment and planned 90-day follow-up visit
