- Your baby is full-term (born between 37–42 weeks of pregnancy)
- Your baby needs surgery or a medical procedure in their first 28 days of life
- The planned anesthesia includes a medicine called propofol
- Your baby does not have a history of lack of oxygen at birth (perinatal asphyxia)
- Your baby has no signs of brain injury, brain abnormalities, or neurological problems
- Your baby is medically stable (normal heart function and metabolism) at the time of surgery
