New Uterine Artery Sealing Technique for Hysterectomy

Who can take part

  • You are age 35 or older
  • Your uterus is enlarged but not larger than 20 weeks of pregnancy size (checked by doctor)
  • You have a non-cancerous uterine condition like fibroids, abnormal bleeding, or uterine lining overgrowth that hasn't improved with medication
  • You are healthy enough for surgery (your anesthesiologist rates you as ASA score 1, 2, or 3—generally safe for surgery)
  • You do not have heart, lung, or other serious medical problems that would make laparoscopic surgery risky for you
