Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with acute pulmonary embolism (a blood clot in your lung) confirmed by CT scan in the past 14 days
- Your heart is showing signs of strain from the clot (enlarged right heart chamber on imaging and/or elevated blood markers)
- Your blood pressure is stable (at least 90 mmHg systolic) and you are not on life-support medications
- You have not already received clot-dissolving drugs (thrombolysis) or mechanical clot removal for this current blood clot
- You are able to undergo follow-up CT scans and return for clinic visits
- You can understand and sign an informed consent form
