Who can take part
- You are 18 or older and have been diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lung) that doctors consider high risk—meaning your heart is affected.
- You have symptoms that started less than 2 weeks ago, and they got noticeably worse in the last week.
- A CT scan of your chest shows a blood clot in a main, lobar, or segmental lung artery.
- You do not have serious bleeding risks, like a recent stroke or major surgery in the last 3 weeks.
- You are not on long-term blood thinners (like warfarin or apixaban) except for aspirin or heparin.
