Who can take part
- You have symptoms of Parkinson's disease or a similar condition (slowness of movement plus stiffness, tremor, or both) that started less than 3 years ago
- You are between 40 and 80 years old
- A special brain scan (DaTscan) confirmed that nerve cells that make dopamine (a brain chemical) are damaged
- You do not have other brain conditions (like tumors or strokes) that could explain your symptoms
- You are not on antibiotics or probiotics, and have not taken them in the past 3 months
- You do not have severe heart, kidney, or liver disease, advanced diabetes, or active infections or cancer
