Who can take part

  • You have symptoms of Parkinson's disease or a similar condition (slowness of movement plus stiffness, tremor, or both) that started less than 3 years ago
  • You are between 40 and 80 years old
  • A special brain scan (DaTscan) confirmed that nerve cells that make dopamine (a brain chemical) are damaged
  • You do not have other brain conditions (like tumors or strokes) that could explain your symptoms
  • You are not on antibiotics or probiotics, and have not taken them in the past 3 months
  • You do not have severe heart, kidney, or liver disease, advanced diabetes, or active infections or cancer
