  • Child is between 4 and 12 years old
  • Scheduled for planned (non-emergency) dental work under general anesthesia
  • Child is in generally good health (ASA status I or II—no serious heart, lung, liver, kidney, or nerve disease)
  • Anesthesia plan uses sevoflurane gas and a breathing tube through the mouth
  • Parent or legal guardian provides written permission
  • No allergies to sevoflurane, numbing medications (articaine), or epinephrine
