Who can take part

  • Your child must be 2 to 7 years old.
  • Surgery must be an ear, nose, or throat (ENT) procedure (like tonsillectomy), an eye muscle surgery (strabismus), or a urology procedure.
  • Your child will need an IV and a breathing tube during the surgery.
  • Your child must not have a severe developmental delay that prevents them from interacting with doctors.
  • The anesthesia will be given as gas, not only through the IV (no TIVA).
  • Your child cannot have had a severe emergence delirium episode in the past that required extra care.
