Who can take part

  • Age 18 or older
  • Brain MRI showing white matter hyperintensities (bright spots on imaging linked to small vessel disease)
  • Either no recent stroke, or a recent small stroke, or a recent larger stroke
  • Ability to read and speak German well enough to understand study procedures
  • No other conditions causing similar brain changes (like tumors, inflammation, or inherited disorders)
  • No severe traumatic brain injury, neurodegenerative disease, or MRI contraindications
