Who can take part

  • You have chronic heart failure with a weakened left ventricle (pumping chamber) documented by heart ultrasound
  • Your heart failure symptoms have been stable for at least 3 months with no worsening swelling or weight gain
  • You are on standard heart failure medications at the highest doses you can tolerate
  • Your blood pressure is lower than normal (systolic less than 100 or diastolic less than 60)
  • Your blood sodium level is below normal (less than 140 mmol/L)
  • You are between 18 and 85 years old and weigh between 40 and 150 kg (88–330 lbs)
