Who can take part
- You need surgery within 10 days of your hand injury
- Your fracture must not go through the joint surface
- You must be 18 years or older
- You must be able to read English, understand the study, and return for follow-up visits
- You cannot have soft tissue damage, tendon injury, nerve injury, infection, or severe bone fragmentation at the fracture site
- You cannot have had previous surgery on the same hand for a fracture
