Managing Heart Valve Problems During Aortic Valve Replacement

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have severe aortic stenosis (a narrowed aortic valve) and need a TAVI procedure (a catheter-based valve replacement)
  • You have moderate-to-severe leaking in your mitral valve (the valve between your heart's upper and lower left chambers) and/or tricuspid valve (the valve between your heart's upper and lower right chambers)
  • Your life expectancy is at least 1 year
  • You have never had prior surgery on your mitral or tricuspid valves
  • You do not have an active heart infection, blood clots, or growths inside your heart
