Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years old or younger
  • You must be able to cooperate with hearing and brain tests (like sitting still for recordings or responding to sounds)
  • If you have hearing loss: your hearing threshold must be at least 20 dB HL, or your auditory brainstem response (ABR) must show 35 dB nHL or higher
  • If you have normal hearing: a doctor must have confirmed your hearing is typical
