Who can take part
- Your lung cancer must be advanced (stage IIIB/IIIC or stage IV) or has come back, and cannot be treated with surgery or radiation alone
- Your cancer cells must show HER2 amplification or overexpression (a genetic marker), confirmed by a biopsy or lab test
- You have not received prior anti-HER2 drugs (like Herceptin or similar antibody treatments)
- You have adequate blood cell counts, kidney function, and liver function (confirmed by recent blood tests)
- You are 18–75 years old and in good enough health to tolerate treatment (ECOG score 0–1)
- If you are of childbearing potential, you agree to use effective contraception during and for 90 days after the study
