Blood Pressure Monitoring Device for Heart Pump Patients

Who can take part

  • You have an HM3 left ventricular assist device (a mechanical heart pump)
  • You are 18 years old or older
  • Your kidney function is adequate (eGFR of 30 or higher)
  • You can have your blood pressure taken on at least one upper arm
  • You are not currently receiving inotropes (heart-support medications given through an IV)
  • You do not have severe cognitive or vision problems that would prevent you from using the device

This trial tests if a combination of a tiny lung-artery pressure sensor (CardioMEMS) and a mechanical heart pump (HeartMate 3) is safe and effective for people with advanced heart failure.
