Who can take part

  • You were diagnosed with scoliosis before age 20
  • You are between 10 and 19 years old
  • Your scoliosis is idiopathic (the common type, with no known cause)
  • You are scheduled for elective posterior spinal fusion (planned back surgery from the back)
  • You should not have permanent cognitive impairment or major liver/kidney problems, and no developmental delays
