Who can take part
- Your child was born between January 2010 and December 2025
- A newborn blood screening sample (dried blood spot) was collected for your child through Denmark's national newborn screening program
- Your child either has a confirmed CMV infection diagnosed from newborn screening blood or urine tests, OR is a healthy control child matched to an infected child by sex, gestational age, and birthweight
- The stored blood sample has been approved by the hospital for research use
- The blood sample contains enough material for laboratory testing of proteins and genetic expression
