Who can take part
- You have heart failure with ejection fraction below 40% (your heart pumps less than 40% of blood per beat)
- Your exercise tolerance is limited—you can do less than 85% of the exercise capacity expected for your age and size
- Your heart condition has been stable and your medications have been optimized for at least 6 weeks
- You do not have recent major heart procedures (coronary stent, bypass surgery, pacemaker, valve surgery) in the past 3 months
- You do not have musculoskeletal problems (joint, bone, or muscle conditions) that would prevent strength training
- You are not currently experiencing acute heart failure decompensation (sudden worsening requiring hospitalization)
