Who can take part

  • You have a corneal stromal defect (a scar or wound in the middle layer of your cornea) from trauma or infection removal
  • The remaining healthy cornea in the damaged area is at least 300 micrometers thick (about the thickness of 3 human hairs)
  • You are between 18 and 85 years old
  • You can give written consent and speak with your doctor about the study
  • You do not have active eye infections, severe dry eye, or other serious eye surface problems
  • You do not have uncontrolled diabetes, high blood pressure, heart problems, or a history of cancer in the past 5 years
