Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are having thyroid or parathyroid surgery through a standard neck incision
  • You are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to participate
  • You are not having remote-access (minimally invasive camera-based) thyroid or parathyroid surgery
  • You do not have a thyroglossal duct cyst (a benign cyst in the lower neck)
