Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You are having thyroid or parathyroid surgery through a standard neck incision
- You are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to participate
- You are not having remote-access (minimally invasive camera-based) thyroid or parathyroid surgery
- You do not have a thyroglossal duct cyst (a benign cyst in the lower neck)
