  • Age between 18 and 50 years old
  • Diagnosed with metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MASLD—fat buildup in the liver not caused by alcohol)
  • Meet Traditional Chinese Medicine criteria for 'dampness-heat accumulation syndrome' (a pattern of imbalance in Chinese medicine)
  • Liver ultrasound shows significant fat accumulation (CAP score of 238 dB/m or higher)
  • Body mass index of 23 kg/m² or higher
  • Not currently taking any other treatments for fatty liver disease
