Who can take part

  • Your child had at least one ear infection in the past 12 months
  • Your family speaks fluent Finnish at home
  • Your child does not have ear tubes or a hole in the eardrum, and none are planned
  • Your child does not currently have fluid in the middle ear
  • Your child has not been diagnosed with hearing loss
  • You (the parent) have never done an otoscopy exam before—meaning you haven't looked inside an ear with a special viewing tool
