- You are between 40 and 75 years old
- You have been diagnosed with multiple system atrophy, Parkinson disease, or are a healthy volunteer without neurological disease
- You can provide your own informed consent or have a legal representative who can consent for you

- You do not have other atypical parkinsonian syndromes (like progressive supranuclear palsy or corticobasal syndrome)
- You do not have parkinsonism caused by brain tumors, fluid on the brain, medication side effects, or other identifiable causes
