Who can take part

  • You must be of Japanese descent
  • You are 18–55 years old (if you have elevated blood pressure) or 18–60 years old (if you have high blood pressure)
  • Your weight is at least 50 kg if male or 45 kg if female, and your BMI is between 18–30
  • You have a normal heart rhythm and no history of serious heart problems
  • You have not taken prescription drugs, herbal supplements, or most over-the-counter medications in the past 2–4 weeks
  • If you are a woman, you cannot be able to become pregnant during the study
