Light therapy and blood-flow restriction for stroke recovery

Who can take part

  • You are between 50 and 70 years old
  • You had a stroke (either bleeding or blocked blood vessel type) at least 1 month ago
  • Your affected arm has mild to moderate muscle stiffness and weakness that doctors can measure
  • Your basic daily functioning score is at least 20 on the Barthel scale (you can do some activities independently)
  • You do not have a history of mental illness, cognitive problems, or previous transient ischemic attacks
  • You do not have uncontrolled high blood pressure (above 160/100), diabetes with nerve damage, or serious heart conditions
