Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have been diagnosed with nontuberculous mycobacterial lung disease (a lung infection caused by bacteria other than tuberculosis)
  • You are not currently taking antibiotics for this lung infection
  • You can use a mesh nebulizer machine at home to inhale salt water mist
  • You do not have active tuberculosis, HIV, or uncontrolled asthma
  • You have not had severe coughing up of blood or bad reactions to salt water inhalation before
