- Age 18 or older
- Severe tinnitus in one ear that has lasted at least one year and hasn't improved with standard treatments like hearing aids

- Able to understand and speak Dutch fluently
- Willing and able to have surgery and participate in rehabilitation afterward
- No serious medical conditions that would make surgery unsafe
